Jigsaw puzzles

Jigsaw puzzles have become a new activity she looks forward to in the evenings. After she eats her dinner and takes her pills and we clean up the kitchen, we start working on the jigsaw puzzle. The last one had too many pieces and was too difficult. Shem got a 300-piece puzzle that is working very well. I'm teaching her how to look at the pieces and how to sort, based on having a flat side, a certain color, or a piece of a bigger picture. To my knowledge, this is the first time she has ever put a jigsaw puzzle together. She got really excited when she got four pieces to fit together. It's a very calming activity and affirming to her, which she needs. Very simple and inexpensive activity that doesn't challenge her. She seems to be enjoying it.

Yes, that's a small glass of wine. Considering the news she's received in the last two days, she's doing exceptionally well. No valium. None. Of course she's sad. I would be, too. We've had lots of hugs and kisses and affirmation that she's loved deeply.
